MOVING A MOTION FOR CAIM TO FUNCTION MORE AS A CHAPLAINCY ORGANIZATION

MOVING A MOTION FOR CAIM TO FUNCTION MORE AS A CHAPLAINCY ORGANIZATION.
I move a motion for CAIM to function more as a chaplaincy organization.
What Is a chaplaincy organization ?
A chaplaincy organization is a group or entity that provides spiritual care and support services, typically in a specific context or setting, such as:
1. Healthcare (hospitals, hospices, nursing homes)
2. Corrections (prisons, jails, rehabilitation centers)
3. Military (armed forces, veterans’ affairs)
4. Education (schools, universities, colleges)
5. Community (disaster response, crisis support, outreach programs)
Chaplaincy organizations aim to:
1. Provide emotional and spiritual support
2. Offer counseling and pastoral care
3. Facilitate religious services and sacraments
4. Promote spiritual growth and discipleship
5. Support individuals in crisis or need
By functioning more as a chaplaincy organization focused on Ndigbo and Alaigbo, CAIM can:
1. Strengthen its impact on the Igbo community
2. Enhance its relevance and effectiveness
3. Build trust and credibility among Igbo people
4. Provide unique and essential services
5. Fulfill its desire to “reach, reconcile, and restore” Igbo individuals and communities
To achieve this, every member of CAIM should function as a chaplain with all coordinators at various levels (international, national, state, and LGA), ranked accordingly , others ranked according to their relevance. Training, be organized seasonally.
At the various levels (international, national, state, and LGA) the organigram should look like:
International:
Let the Chaplain Marshal : designate a Chaplain General, to assist him to oversee global chaplaincy efforts
– Establish a Chaplaincy Committee to develop policies and guidelines made up of international superintendents.
They should recruit and train chaplains at that level
– Deploy chaplains to various countries
National:
– Designate the National coordinators as National Chaplain general, to lead the chaplaincy team
– Establish a National Chaplaincy Committee to coordinate efforts made up of national superintendents.
They should develop national chaplaincy programs and initiatives
State:
– Designate state coordinators as Chaplain commandant to lead the state chaplaincy team
– Establish a State Chaplaincy Committee to oversee state-level efforts, made up of state superintendents
– Recruit and train chaplains to serve in various state-level ministries like Healthcare, Corrections , Military, Education etc.
Find openings and deploy them.
LGA:
– Designate LGA coordinators as LG superintendents to supervise others serving the local community
– Develop LGA-specific chaplaincy programs
Let the Field Marshal, rank people he may want to and leave the rest to his subordinates to. All trained Chaplains should be ranked as inspectors of different categories , based on relevance.
The untrained ones should just answer chaplain. Only he who ranked one can demote . But an officer can recommend promotion or demotion.
Additionally CAIM should:
– Develop a chaplaincy training program for all levels
– Establish a system for reporting and accountability
– Foster collaboration and communication among chaplains across levels
– Provide resources and support for chaplains to effectively serve their communities
By establishing a structured chaplaincy program at all levels, CAIM can ensure a strong, unified, and effective ministry that supports the spiritual well-being of its members and ndigbo.
If CAIM function more as a chaplaincy organization for Ndigbo and Alaigbo, several potential benefits will include:
1. Enhanced spiritual support: CAIM can provide more focused spiritual care and support to Igbo individuals and communities.
2. Increased relevance: By adapting to the needs of the Igbo community, CAIM becomes more relevant and effective in its mission.
3. Improved community engagement: CAIM can build stronger relationships with the Igbo community, fostering trust and collaboration.
4. Expanded reach: CAIM’s chaplaincy services can extend to various settings, such as hospitals, prisons, and military establishments, reaching more Igbo individuals.
5. Cultural preservation: By incorporating Igbo cultural heritage and values, CAIM can help preserve and promote the community’s rich cultural identity.
6. Enhanced credibility: CAIM’s commitment to the Igbo community’s specific needs can enhance its credibility and reputation.
7. Increased impact: By providing tailored support, CAIM can make a more significant positive impact on the lives of Igbo individuals and communities.
8. Stronger community bonds: CAIM’s chaplaincy services can help foster a sense of community and connection among Igbo people.
By adopting a chaplaincy model focused on Ndigbo and Alaigbo, CAIM can deepen its connection with the community and enhance its overall effectiveness.
